Dave’s Priorities: Let’s build up Kankakee
To create the community we all want, we must build consensus around implementing bold new ideas. This is no small task.
I remain focused on proposals to advance my three main priorities for the 2nd Ward:
Establishing Strong Neighborhoods, ensuring Safe Streets, and forging a United City.
Strong Neighborhoods
Our community thrives or dies depending on the vitality of our neighborhoods. From Coachlight Square to Downtown, Riverview to South Bank, I will push to use all the tools available—including zoning policy, tax incentives, and code enforcement—to keep our neighborhoods strong.
Safe Streets
We need new, innovative, data-driven strategies to proactively address crime in our community, and we need to see and hear our public safety officials more regularly to feel confident and build trust in the steps they are taking.
United City
I have worked with officials of both parties to attract new investment to Kankakee and create momentum for our neighborhoods. I promise that if you want to improve our City and approach the conversation in good-faith, I will work with you too.
